Palette & Palate is an initiative by Auction for Change aims to bring a unique dining experience that seamlessly blends the worlds of art and gastronomy, offering guests an unforgettable culinary journey with a purpose. Each event in the Palette & Palate series showcases the talents of local artists while indulging attendees in gourmet cuisine. Through the Palette & Palate series, we aim to support emerging artists, promote cultural enrichment, and foster community connections, all while raising funds for charitable causes. During each Palette & Palate event, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in creativity and culture as they explore a curated show featuring the works of one or a few local artists. From paintings and sculptures to mixed media and photography, each piece tells a unique story and adds depth to the dining experience. Palette & Palate is more than just a dining experience—it's a celebration of community and connection. Layers of Identity: From Subconscious to Self
Palette and Palate explored the multifaceted nature of identity, memory, and personal expression, delving into the ways artists interpret their inner worlds and cultural backgrounds. Through a dynamic fusion of abstraction, street art, portraiture, and exploration of heritage, "Layers of Identity" reflects the complex narratives of self-discovery and the influences that shape how we understand ourselves and the world. The event will bring together Ashton Wastney, Carmen Vincent, Kasia Frankowicz, Kimberley Kermode, Simona Turco, and Zsofia Samu. each offering a unique exploration of self and heritage through their art. Ashton Wastney
Ashton Wastney is an abstract figurative artist from Nelson, New Zealand who began studying design in Wellington and Since 2018 has been residing and basing his painting practice in Melbourne, Australia. His works use anatomy as the base for abstraction and he approaches each work without pre-meditation or a final intention.

Carmen Vincent is a multidisciplinary artist, mother, and university student based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne on Wurundjeri land. Evolving from traditional portraiture to a contemporary practice, her work now delves into themes of identity, self-acceptance, and the journey of returning to one’s true self.

Kasia Frankowicz grew up in Western Sydney as the child of refugee parents, an experience that profoundly shaped her perspective. Influenced by her brother’s graffiti and the vibrant street culture of her hometown, she discovered her unique voice by merging street art with contemporary pop aesthetics.

Zsofia Samu
Zsofia is a Hungarian-born textile and visual artist, and a passionate educator, based in Melbourne. Her work is deeply inspired by the natural world and driven by a commitment to social justice. Through her art, she explores themes of connection to the wilderness and advocates for an inclusive society. Zsofia’s practice is a fusion of wire, fibre and mixed media, creating sculptural pieces that reflect intimacy with nature and a social narrative focusing on the experiences of displaced peoples and the broader themes of belonging and resilience.
